Prescott vs Phoenix, where should I buy for retirement?
Prescott and Phoenix offer very different climates, elevations, community sizes and lifestyles. Prescott sits at about 5,400 feet with four true seasons including snow, while Phoenix stays warm year round with hot summers and mild winters. Both have active retirement communities, but the pace, terrain, amenities, healthcare access, tax environment and cost of living differ. I can't characterize which area is better or safer. For schools or neighborhood character if those matter to your plans, check the respective school districts, city police department crime maps and visit each location multiple times. Your choice depends on your health, hobbies, budget, proximity to family and personal preference. Jon can help you understand property specifics in either market.
