Getting started

How long does it take to buy a house from start to finish?

The timeline to buy a house varies, but once you're pre-approved and actively looking, it typically takes a few weeks to a few months to find the right home depending on market conditions and how selective you are. After your offer is accepted, the escrow period in Arizona usually runs 30 to 45 days, though it can be shorter or longer based on what you negotiate. During escrow, you'll complete inspections in the first 10 days, finalize your loan, and work with the title company to prepare for closing. If you're building new construction, add several months for the build. Overall, from starting your search to closing day, expect anywhere from two to six months under normal circumstances.
