How do I choose a closing date?
The closing date is negotiated in the purchase contract and should allow enough time for financing, inspections, appraisal and title work to be completed. A typical timeline is 30 to 45 days from contract acceptance, but it can be shorter for cash deals or longer if you need extra time. Consider your move-in needs, lease end dates, school schedules and when you can take possession. Remember that in Arizona, you get keys once funding and recording are complete, which can be after the day you sign. Lender processing times and seller needs also affect the date. Jon can help you choose a closing date that fits your situation and keeps the transaction on track.
