Inspections and appraisals

Can I attend the home inspection?

Most inspectors welcome and even encourage buyers to attend the home inspection, especially toward the end when they walk through findings and answer questions. Being there lets you see concerns firsthand, understand the home's systems and ask about maintenance. However, policies vary by inspector and some prefer you arrive only for the summary to avoid distractions during the technical work. The inspection itself typically takes two to four hours depending on the size and age of the home. You'll receive a detailed written report afterward. The specifics depend on your situation and the inspector's practice, and a licensed home inspector should confirm the arrangement. Jon can connect you with a qualified inspector.
